Detailed Itinerary

 

Day 1: Etosha National Park

 

After breakfast, you will be met by our trip leader at your hotel in Windhoek and make our way to the Wildlife Sanctuary- Etosha National Park. This treasure of Namibia is considered to be one of the most loved and most visited game parks of Africa!

Day 2: Etosha National Park

After our early breakfast, we embark on our full day game drive passing through several waterholes. We will have an
opportunity to explore the Etosha pan where we are likely to date with the ostrich and the gemsbok. This day allows us more
time at the waterholes experiencing more of the Etosha National Park.

Day 3 Kamanjab

Day 4: Twyfelfontein – The Place of Weathering and Rock Paintings

Next on the menu is Namibia’s first World Heritage Site, since 2007: Twyfelfontein, situated in central Damaraland. When driving south from Palm wag early on a clear day, the magnificent views of the Etendeka Mountains from the Grootberg Pass may be worth taking a detour, unless prehistoric rock art and volcanic activities that created prominent geographic features have more appeal to you. At Twyfelfontein, a 45-minute walk with a local guide across a mountain slope takes you to some of the best examples of petroglyphs in Southern Africa, consisting of rock paintings and engravings. Also Interesting are the nearby Organ Pipes, Burnt Mountain as well as Petrified Forest which may be visited individually. All of these attractions are situated in close proximity of your accommodation.

Day 5: Brandberg

 

The area derives its name from highest mountain in Namibia- Brandberg Mountain that features various routes to the summit & an ancient rock painting. The Brandberg Mountain Range– or just the Brandberg – is situated in the Erongo region in the west of Namibia about 90 km from the Atlantic Ocean and covers an area 760 km². The mountain range has a mean height of 2500 metres and impressively surmounts its surrounding by some 2000 meters.

The name of the 30 km long and 23 km wide Brandberg derives from the glowing colours that the setting sun paints onto the mountain range as if the mountain was on fire. The closest town is Uis, which is about 30 km away and offers several overnight facilities.

Day 6: The Quirky Town of Swakopmund

 

Time to meet the Southern Atlantic Ocean and to indulge in some cooling down before you travel across the dry plains of Southern Damara land. A detour up the coast allows us to visit the Cape cross seal reserve-home of one of the largest Cape-fur Seal colonies in the southern hemisphere that thrives on the arctic Benguela Current. About an hour’s drive south of Henties Bay lies your destination for the coming days. Explore the town on foot, enjoy side-walk cafés, restaurants, museums and souvenir shops. Join an optional tour of the central Namib Desert or a Dolphin Cruise.

Day 07: The Quirky Town of Swakopmund

This morning after breakfast, we head for a living desert tour where we interact with the desert reptiles with the help of our professional guide. We will also intrigued with the beautiful scenery of the desert.

Day 08: Namib Desert – The Dunes of Sossusvlei

Bid farewell to Swakopmund and travel south via Walvis Bay across the barren gravel plains of the central Namib, and through the Kuiseb and Ghaub Canyons to reach Solitaire, for a delicious cup of coffee and apple crumble at the local farm shop that is known beyond the borders of Namibia. For those still feeling adventurous, the Sesriem Canyon situated just an hour’s drive further south, is worth exploring for its cool shade and permanent water pools at the bottom. Or continue straight a little further to your accommodation where the remainder of the day is at leisure to relax at the swimming pool and enjoying desert vistas. A visit to Sossusvlei at sunrise the next morning is worth getting up early. Experience the change of colours on this ocean off sand and a climb up “Big Daddy”, the highest desert sand dune in this area.

Day 09: Namib Desert – The Dunes of Sossusvlei

 

After breakfast, we explore the two amazing attractions own the area; sesriem canyon and the deadvlei.

Included Activities
Sesriem Canyon: The canyon is invisible from even a short distance away. Formed some 2 million years ago as the then mighty Tsauchab River cut its way through the sedimentary rocks, this geological phenomenon is now one of Namibia's most popular tourist attractions.
Visit to the Deadvlei: This white clay pan islocated near the more famous salt pan of Sossusvlei, inside the Namib-Naukluft Park in Namibia. Also written DeadVlei or Dead Vlei, its name means "dead marsh". The pan also is referred to as "Dooie Vlei" which is the fully.

Day 10: Windhoek – Homeward Bound

 

The time finally comes to bid the desert goodbye as we drive back to Windhoek. Looking out the window at the retreating Namib Desert, the ochre mountains and valleys, and the enormous uninhabited space aside you, the magic of Namibia takes ahold of you and you promise yourself to return one day.

Price & Inclusions

 

From $ 3,500 /person ( Minimum 2 pax)-Solo travellers can join.                 

 

  • Prices are in USD and is based on low season and high season rates for accommodation and other applicable services, and may change depending on availability, currency fluctuations and number of people traveling together.

  • Rates include all accommodation on full board, transport, guiding, park fees and included activities. Flights are not Included.

  • Game drives in high quality and well maintained safari vehicle with professional English-speaking driver guide. Game drives may be shared with other guests of the lodge/camp, with maximum of 10 guests in the vehicle​

 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Tour Resevation

 

A deposit of 30% of the tour price is required for reservation confirmation. Reservation will automatically be cancelled if the deposit is not received by Africa Uncovered Safaris within 14 days after reservation. Final (70%) payment of the total tour price must be paid 21 days before start of the safari.

 

Travel Documents:

​

It is the traveller’s responsibility to ensure that they possess the necessary travel documentation for the tour, such as a valid passport. In general a passport should be valid at least 6 months beyond the end of your journey and have two clear pages for each country to be visited to allow for entry and exit stamps en-route or for any visas. Your journey may require a visa for your country’s passport. If you are transiting or stopping elsewhere on your journey, other visas may be required. Africa uncovered Safaris is able to organise and coordinate visas if required. If you plan to visit other countries, some do require visas in advance and proof of travel insurance

Travel Insurance:

​

  • Comprehensive travel and cancellation insurance is mandatory on the tour. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that he or she has such insurance in place (together with the required paperwork to prove such insurance) before embarking on the tour.

  • The client acknowledges that travel insurance must include comprehensive medical insurance including provision for air evacuation, and that the Company shall not be liable for any consequences, damages or loss as a result of the client failing to have the necessary cover.

 

Cancellation Policy:

  • Cancellation 30days before the scheduled date: no penalty

  • Cancellation 14- 29days before the scheduled date: 70% penalty on the tour cost

  • Cancellation 1-13days before the scheduled date: 95% penalty on the tour cost
